Gerasimos Michalitsis has accumulated 20+ years of experience by holding
several positions in leading firms of the Information and Communications
Technology sector. He is now focusing on innovation and creativity, for
transforming an idea into a profitable venture, from within the Corporate
environment.
He is now heading the “New Ventures” department of Intrasoft International, a
leading software services and products vendor in Europe, the Middle East and
Africa. Being also the founder of the department, he has been busy
establishing an aggressive Innovation and Intrapreneurship initiative within a
longstanding and successful multinational firm, using both organic growth
and M&As as strategic tools for growth. In parallel, he sits in the Board of
Directors and Advisory Committees in several Technology focused VCs and
young start-up companies dealing with Cloud, Fintech and AI.
During his initial positions he has led the product design and consulted the
deployment of numerous technological Next Generation Access
telecommunications projects and products. He is now engaged with the key
enabling technologies and trends like Big Data Analytics and AI, Blockchain
and Cryptocurrencies, Smart Energy / Utility Grid and Internet of Things and
especially on how they empower business growth.
He is a holder of a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the
University of Patras, Greece and of a Master of Science in “Electronic System
Design” from Cranfield University, UK. Since the completion of his formal
studies he followed several enablement sessions for expanding his view in
technology and business like: Management of Business Innovation &
Technology (Athens Information Technology), Negotiation skills (Harvard
University, JFK School of Government), Professional Scrum Master
(Scrum.org), Blockchain Technologies: Business Innovation and Application
(MIT Sloan University) and more.
